You do not have to change any proxy ports.

ChatPatrol is a FireWall-friendly application that has the ability to encrypt and decrypt your Instant Messages (IM). It works by obtaining your IM account and port information, and then encrypting all messages sent by the program that pass through it. The data remains in RAM until such time as it is written to your hard drive for a secure storage location. It can also decrypt your IM’s that are stored on your hard drive for easy retrieval.
To encrypt messages sent via ChatPatrol you will need to ensure that you have an appropriate IM service running on your computer. ChatPatrol can detect and communicate with the following IM’s:

￭ ICQ
￭ GoogleTalk (official clients only)
￭ MSN Messenger
￭ Yahoo Messenger
In addition to communicating with the supported IM’s ChatPatrol also has a convenient way to configure the IM’s you wish to use with it:

Once ChatPatrol is installed it will be fully functional and will not require any further input from you. It will configure itself to work with your IM service.
